Deacon Tinsley


Ernest D. Tinsley has over 25 years of experience leading and working with men and men’s ministries on the local, district, state, and national level. In 2005 Bro. Tinsley committed himself to full-time ministry and founded Bullseye Ministries, which is dedicated to assisting churches of all denominations with the development of their men’s ministries and the edification of their men, and to providing training in a number of areas, including Practical Christian Leadership Principles, Stewardship, and Evangelism. Prior to founding Bullseye, Bro. Tinsley, a graduate of Yale Law School, practiced law in Arizona.

Bro. Tinsley received much of his training at the First Institutional Baptist Church, Phoenix, Arizona, where Dr. Warren H. Stewart, Sr. is the Senior Pastor. Over the course of 20 years he served the church in a number of capacities, including Deacon, Trustee, Adult Sunday School Superintendent, Adult Sunday School Instructor, Evangelism Instructor, Christian Studies Institute Instructor and President of the Men’s Ministry.

In addition, Bro. Tinsley has served as President of the Laymen’s Department of both the Central District Association and the Paradise Missionary Baptist State Convention of Arizona. He is also the Past Chairman of the Evangelism Ministry of the National Baptist Laymen’s Movement, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.

In addition to his work with Bullseye, Bro. Tinsley continues to serve in a variety of capacities with the National Baptist Laymen’s Movement, including:

Assistant Vice-President for Education;

Instructor in the National Baptist Convention Congress of Christian Education, where he teaches a class entitled “Organizing and Enhancing Your Local Church Men’s Ministry”; and

National Director for the Development of Local Church Men’s Ministries; in that capacity Bro. Tinsley assists local churches throughout the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., in organizing and enhancing their men’s ministries.

Deacon Tinsley is the author of Motivating and Mobilizing Men for Ministry, a book which outlines biblically based principles for organizing and operating a local church men’s ministry. This book is the approved textbook for the class Bro. Tinsley teaches in the National Congress, and is in use in over 100 churches across the country.

Bro. Tinsley is happily married to Joice Tinsley. Together Bro. and Sis. Tinsley have four children.
